In this single-blind randomized controlled intervention trial, Adansonia digitata fruit pulp beverage did not alter hemoglobin, ferritin, or soluble transferrin receptor when administered to healthy schoolchildren aged 6-12 years (n=29) compared to control groups.

In a randomized single-blinded crossover study, 20 healthy participants drank a smoothie with 15 g of baobab extract, or a control smoothie. Subjective measures of hunger were reduced after the consumption of the test smoothie, possibly having a positive effect on weight maintenance.
