ABC received many entries in its medicinal plant theme garden design contest this past fall, including seven from 7th and 8th grade students who are growing herbs in their classroom at Schweinfurt Middle School in Germany. All efforts are greatly appreciated. While it was a difficult choice, the winners are: first place for her Breast Cancer Prevention Garden, Luddene E. Perry of Minneapolis, Minnesota; second place for her Medicinal Medieval Garden, Pamela Jacobsen of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts; third place for her Nervine Garden, Paula Gorman of Muskego, Wisconsin; and honorable mention for her Medicinal Lily Garden, Leah Neal of Austin, Texas. The winners will be awarded prizes and their names will be permanently displayed as designers of those gardens. Implementation of the designs began this spring.
