A major manufacturer of herbal supplements has made an unprecedentedd pledge to support ABC's new Education Center.

Dick Marconi, president and chairman of Global Health Sciences Incorporated of Orange, California, recently pledged $500,000 to the Capital Campaign of ABC. This pledge will provide funds to create a library and resource center in the Herbal Education and Research Building now being planned and designed at Case Mill. The proposed library will house materials dedicated to the education and promotion of the safe and effective use of medicinal plants and will provide the public access to an enormous wealth of source information.

Dick Marconi has been a significant supporter of herbal research and development throughout the past three decades. As a former pharmaceutical salesman, he has built Global Health Sciences, Inc., into one of the world's largest manufacturers of dietary supplements with international sales in more than 60 countries. With great generosity and foresight, Marconi has dedicated his life to making millions of people take their health more seriously.

Through the Marconi Foundation for Kids, he has continually raised close to $1 million annually for children's charities. It is from this dedication that ABC has benefited from yearly donations since 1995. Global Health Sciences Inc. is the parent company of D&F Industries, Omni-Pak Industries, and affiliates.

ABC most appreciatively acknowledges Dick Marconi's generosity and foresight in assisting this nonprofit organization with its goal of educating the public on the responsible use of herbs and phytomedicinals.
