Each of the gardens will be 100 square feet in area and some of the possible themes are herbs for children, women or men, herbs used in Ayurvedic or Traditional Chinese Medicine, aromatherapy, a tea garden the choices are endless. Design elements such as fences, bird baths, benches, sundials, arbors can be used, and the shape and orientation of the garden are also up to the designer.
The theme of the garden must be medicinally oriented. The entries will be judged by noted local gardening experts and nationally renowned herbalists in time for a planting in spring 1999. Designs must be received by December 22, 1998 to be eligible for consideration. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded by February 14, 1999
