Featured Book

Women Healers of the World: The Traditions, History, and Geography of Herbal Medicine was written by Holly Bellebuono and published by Skyhorse Publishing in 2014. The excerpt includes the book's title page, table of contents, foreword by Rosemary Gladstar, and a note from the author, as well as Chapter 2, "Native Nations Medicine."

Women Healers of the World 
celebrates the lives of healers from around the world and their many different practices and traditions. Celebrating the past and the present, 16 different healing traditions and their practitioners are detailed in the full-color pages, replete with photographs, herb profiles, historical anecdotes, and recipes for simple herbal remedies inspired by the women and their work.

Over the course of seven years, author Holly Bellebuono traveled the world to compile the stories from the contemporary women featured in the book. In total, 31 women from 20 different countries and their legacy of herbal healing are profiled. “These extraordinary healers will inspire the next generation of medical practitioners and women,” said Bellebuono.
