HerbDayactivitiesincludeherbalist-ledtoursofABC’sexpansive20+medicinal-andculinary-themedgardens.Theinternationally-knownexpertherbalistsincludeBrigitteMars,herbalist,author,nutritionist,andteacherfromBoulder,Colorado,andMarkBlumenthal,ABC’sFounderandExecutiveDirector.

Thefirstherbwalkwillstartat10:30amandwillbeledbylocalherbalistandauthorNicoleTelkes,DirectoroftheWildflowerSchoolofBotanicalMedicineinAustin.CarlosHernandez,long-timeAustinherbalistandOwnerandFormulatorforBio-StarBotanicals,willleadthesecondherbwalkat1:15pm.Eachherbwalkwilllastapproximately45minutes.

Theday’sfirstherbaltalkwillbeginatnoonandbepresentedbyMars,anherbalistwithmorethan40years’experienceinnaturallifestyles.Mars’talkwillcover“NaturalRemediesforMentalandEmotionalHealth.”WellknownamongAmericanherbalistsandherbstudents,Ms.MarshastaughtatNaropaUniversity,BaumanCollegeofHolisticHealth,andNaturalChef,TheSchoolofNaturalMedicine,JustfortheHealthofItSchoolofReflexologyandHealingArts,BoulderCollegeofMassageTherapy,EsalenInstitute,Kripalu,andatanIcelandichealingartsschoolcalledHeilsumeistraskolinn.

“Children’sactivitieswilltakeplacethroughouttheday,”saidTobyBernal,ABC’sGardener.“Therewillbeamaypoledance—alwaysfunforyoungandoldalike–andaplantingstationforkidstostarttheirowngardenprojectsfromeitheraseedorastarterplant.Therewillalsobelivemusicthroughouttheday.”
