Propolis is a substance made by bees from plant secretions, wax, pollen, and their own enzymes. Bees use it to repair the hive and honeycomb and to protect the hive from contagion. Humans use it for its antiseptic, antiviral, antioxidant, immunomodulatory, and wound-healing effects.

The American Botanical Council (ABC) is passionate about helping people live healthier lives through the responsible use of herbs and medicinal plants. As an independent, nonprofit education organization, ABC is dedicated to providing accurate and reliable information for consumers, healthcare practitioners, researchers, educators, industry and the media.

Please enjoy this information on propolis made available through the generosity of Beehive Botanicals' adoption.
