Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is an herbaceous biennial in the crucifer family (Brassicaceae) and is native to the high Andes of Peru. It is a traditional staple food and medicine in South America and is used as a stimulant, adaptogen, and to promote fertility.

The American Botanical Council (ABC) is passionate about helping people live healthier lives through the responsible use of herbs and medicinal plants. As an independent, nonprofit education organization, ABC is dedicated to providing accurate and reliable information for consumers, healthcare practitioners, researchers, educators, industry and the media.

Please enjoy this information on maca made available through the generosity of Symphony Natural Health's adoption.
