ACEER is an American and Peruvian registered non-profit organization which manages the 250,000-acre Amazon Biosphere Reserve deep within the area of the upper Amazon and Rio Napo rivers. Two of the wonders found at ACEER are the Useful Plant Trail, a 1 1/4-mile trail with 45 identified trees and medicinal plants in one of the most diverse rainforests in the world, and the canopy walkway, a 1/4-mile walkway 110 feet above the rainforest floor. A new research facility is scheduled to open in March 1996 at ACEER, and will include a fully equipped research laboratory and housing for visiting researchers.
